Italy’s 50&Più - a member organization of the AARP Global Network - is offering exclusively to members of AARP Global Network organizations the opportunity to visit one of the world’s most historic and dynamic cities Rome, Florence and to participate in a mini-Olympic like event in the beautiful beach resort town of Pizzo Calabro located near the Tirrenian Sea in southern Italy.
The XVII 50&Più Olympiad 2010 package consisting of 11 days and 10 nights in late September 2010 is being offered on a limited basis at a significant discount to members of AARP Global Network member organizations on a first-come-first serve basis.
You will experience wonderful accommodations, historic settings, authentic Italian cuisine, and an opportunity to engage in friendly sporting competition with members from other Network member organizations like CARP from Canada, Ældre Sagen (DaneAge) from Denmark, 50&Più from Italy, AMBO from Holland, Los Andes from Chile, Dignity Foundation from India and AARP from the U.S.

Package Itinerary:
|
11 day/10 nights travel package to Rome, Florence and participation in the XVII 50&Più Olympiad 2010 in the southern Italian province of Calabria.
• The Olympiad will be held in southern Italy at a resort village CLUB MED Napitia (Vibo Valenzia) situated on a beach by the Tirrenian Sea.
• Members can compete while representing their country in casual sporting events with their counterparts from other Network nations such as Canada, Denmark, Italy, Nederland, Chile, India and the U.S.
• The sporting events will include archery, soccer (penalty goal kicks), basketball (free throws), swimming, ping-pong, running, and several other non-strenuous sporting events. Participation in the sporting events is encouraged but not required.
• A two kilometer run (mini-marathon) for men and women are the flagship events which will be held on the last day of the Olympiad.
• The evening of the last day will include a celebration dinner, medal-presentation to individuals and teams and closing ceremony that includes fireworks.
• Other cultural and social events and workshops will also be available for the participants to attend at no additional cost.
• The bus tours in Rome and Calabria will be conducted in English.
• There will also be an adequate number of English-speaking staff available on the property and at the hospitality desk for the non-Italian speaking members.

• A deposit payment of EURO 500 per person is due upon pre-registration; and the remaining amount must be paid by July 30th, 2010.
• Reservations will be cancelled if full payment is not received by mid-night of July20, 2010 (GMT-1 hour) and the deposit will be forfeited.
